Polar Pro Filters & The 2020 Drone pals Awards
PolarPro'S Story
Jeff Overall, an avid ski and videography enthusiast, founded PolarPro while seeking a way to improve the quality of his GoPro videos. He has since expanded the company and its products to fit all types of photography (including drones), and even made an appearance on Shark Tank (watch here). PolarPro designs its products by working directly with industry leaders in the field. They want to ensure that what they create can be used easily by those who are just getting started, and by those who work on advanced cinematography projects. Their filters, mounts, and other products all are built ergonomically with high quality materials, keeping the creator utilization at the forefront of the design.
“PolarPro changed the game for drone photographers and videographers when they introduced their first set of aerial filters. Their technology has allowed creators to develop cleaner and more creative shots, no matter the conditions they are facing”
– Martin Sanchez , Drone Pals Team Member and Aerial Creator
About the Cinema Series Filters
PolarPro’s Cinema Series Filters allow photographers to be more creative with their shots, such as this long exposure. With a ND (Neutral Density) filter attached, the photographer was able to maintain a darker frame and long shutter speed, in daylight conditions. Combine this capture with a day shot, some quick photoshop, and you have this epic day to night creation.
Long exposures are just one thing that ND filters can allow you to create more easily. PolarPro’s Cinema Series Filters also can dampen the effects of harsh lighting conditions, and can give a more smooth, cinematic feel to your videos. Using a ND/PL (Neutral Density / Polarizing) at the beach or lake can help in lighting conditions such as sunrise or sunset, where you might have a heavy reflection of light coming off of the water. The filters reduce the shutter speed to cinematic levels, while maintaining a low aperture, which reduces glare. Most influencers keep a set of these filters equipped for their work from above, as well as their shots on the ground.
